Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) occurs when the body is not receiving enough fuel to meet the combined demands of physical activity and everyday functioning. This energy mismatch can lead to a range of physical, hormonal, and psychological effects, and can affect athletes of any gender.
